Join AIGA
The purpose of the Student Group is to offer all students the opportunity to mingle with like minded peers as well as design professionals. Therefore, any student can attend the Student Group hosted events without being an AIGA member.
If you have paid the Design Communication Arts (DCA) candidacy fee for UCLA Extension, the AIGA student membership is included in your cost. The membership is good for 1 year from the point you signed up for the candidacy fee. If you have any questions, please contact the Visual Arts Department at (310) 206-1422.
In addition, joining AIGA would mean that students can receive discounts and invitations to professional networking events hosted by AIGA/LA or AIGA National Headquarters. If you are interested in joining AIGA, you can apply online or you can print out the application form (PDF 35K) and fax the application to AIGA directly at 212.807.1799. Please note that a $20 fee will be added if you mail or fax your application.
Once you have submitted the online form, AIGA headquarters will contact you and ask you to fax a copy of any proof of your student status (e.g., 2 class receipts or a copy of a UCLA Extension Certificate Student ID Card) so that you will be billed at the student membership rate.
